At UXL Technology Academy we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.

1. Background

This document is an electronic record in terms of (i) the Information Technology Act, 2000; (ii) the Rules framed thereunder as applicable; and (iii) the amended provisions pertaining to electronic records in various statutes as amended by the Information Technology Act, 2000. This electronic record is generated by a computer system and does not require any physical or digital signatures.

This Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") is published in compliance with: (i) Section 43A of the (Indian) Information Technology Act, 2000; (ii) Rule 4 of the (Indian) Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Information) Rules, 2011 ("SPI Rules"); and (iii) Rule 3(1) of the (Indian) Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

This Privacy Policy is to be read alongside the UXL Technology Academy Terms of Use and forms part of the same. "Website" shall mean the domain name tech.uxl.academy.

This Privacy Policy covers: (i) the type of information collected from Users of the Website; (ii) the purpose, means, and modes of usage of such information; and (iii) how and to whom such information will be disclosed.

For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, "You", "Your", or "User" shall mean any natural person who accesses or uses the Website to avail the Services. "We", "Us", or "Our" shall mean UXL Technologies, operating UXL Technology Academy.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. Any such modifications become effective immediately upon posting on the Website. Your continued use of the Website and/or Services constitutes Your agreement to such modifications.

2. Information We Collect

"Personal information" as defined under Section 2(i) of the SPI Rules means any information that relates to a natural person, which either directly or indirectly, in combination with other information available or likely to be available, is capable of identifying such person.

When You register or interact with our platform, We may collect the following information:

  • Full name
  • Username (chosen at registration)
  • Email address
  • Password (stored in encrypted form via Clerk authentication)
  • Device and browser information (collected automatically for security purposes)
  • Session and access logs
  • Course progress and activity data
  • Communications submitted through our contact or help-desk forms
  • Feedback and responses submitted on the platform

We do not collect financial information directly. Any payment processing is handled by a trusted third-party payment gateway. Information submitted at the payment portal is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

Information collected is used solely for the purposes described below:

  • Username & Password: Used for authenticating Your identity and providing secure access to the platform via our authentication provider, Clerk (clerk.com). Passwords are never stored in plain text.
  • Email Address: Used to communicate account-related updates, course notifications, platform announcements, and support responses. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
  • Device & Session Data: Used to detect and prevent unauthorised access, credential stuffing, and fraudulent activity. On new or unrecognised devices, additional verification may be required.
  • Course & Activity Data: Used to track Your learning progress, personalise Your experience, and generate performance insights.
  • Contact Form Submissions: Used solely to respond to Your enquiry or support request.

We will not sell, rent, or trade Your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

To operate the platform effectively, We use certain trusted third-party services. These providers may process Your data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

  • Clerk (clerk.com) — Authentication and identity management. Handles login, session management, and device trust.
  • Google Analytics — Anonymised usage analytics to understand how Users interact with the Website. No personally identifiable information is shared.
  • Payment Gateway — Processes payments for course enrolment. We do not store Your payment card details.

We encourage You to review the privacy policies of these third-party providers. We take due care to only engage with reputable and compliant service providers.

5. Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not disclose Your personal information to third parties except in the following circumstances:

  • To our authentication and infrastructure providers, solely for the purpose of operating the platform.
  • To comply with applicable law, a court order, or a valid legal process.
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of UXL Technologies, our Users, or the public.
  • With Your explicit consent.

6. Cookies

The Website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance Your experience and for security purposes.

Session cookies are used by our authentication provider (Clerk) to maintain Your logged-in state. These are cleared when You log out or close Your browser.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) collect anonymised data about how Users navigate the Website. These do not store personal information.

We do not use cookies to serve third-party advertising.

You may configure Your browser to refuse or delete cookies. Note that disabling session cookies will prevent You from logging in to the platform.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect Your personal information from unauthorised access, misuse, disclosure, or accidental loss. These include:

  • Encrypted password storage (managed by Clerk)
  • Secure HTTPS connections across the entire Website
  • Device trust verification on new sign-ins
  • Regular access reviews and audit logging

While We take all reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure. We encourage You to use a strong, unique password and to keep Your login credentials confidential.

8. Retention of Information

We retain Your personal information for as long as Your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter, in order to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

Non-personal and anonymised usage data may be retained for up to 36 (thirty-six) months for the purposes of platform analytics and service improvement.

Upon written request, We will provide You with a copy of the personal information We hold about You, subject to verification of Your identity. You may also request deletion of Your account and associated data by contacting us at the address below.

10. Minors

Our platform is intended for learners of all ages. Where a User is under the age of 18, We require that a parent or legal guardian review this Privacy Policy and, where applicable, register on the User's behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

11. Grievance Redressal

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the SPI Rules, if You have any grievance regarding the use of Your personal information or any other privacy concern, You may contact our Grievance Officer:

We will endeavour to acknowledge Your grievance within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 (fifteen) days of receipt.
